Graffiti US-Tour

Montags sind wir ein letztes mal zur Ausstellung (NAC) gefahren um uns von Jason, und den Redbull Jungs zu verabschieden. Hier haben wir dann Interviews für the topic – Oregons HipHop TV Show – gegeben. Auch Sean Giligan (www.seangilligan.com), der Photograph der die Entstehung unserer Wand dokumentiert hatte, kam vorbei. Später dann auch Jaymeer von www.hiphopsmells.com, der ein paar coole Mitbringsel an den Start brachte.

Nach dem Richard und Joker ihre Interviews beendet hatten sind wir dann noch zur Wand bei Bishops gefahren, wo wir Photos von unserer Wand gemacht haben, so wie diverse Gruppenfotos. Hier haben wir uns dann von allen noch einmal verabschiedet und sind mit Susan richtung Flughafen gefahren. Nach einem letzten gemeinsamen Veggie Burrito ging es ab in den Flieger.

Oakland: Gerade gelandet in Oakland waren wir schon wieder super platt vom Flug. Kemrexx hat uns dann abgeholt und wir sind zum Warehous Liminal Gallery gefahren. Nachdem wir unsere fetten Eastpak Taschen bei Kemrexx im Büro abgestellt hatten, sind wir zum Cornerstore gegangen, und haben uns die wohl ekligste Konserven pürrierte Bohnen Tomaten irgendwas Pampe geholt. Nach einem Kaffee und einiger Planerei hatten wir dann eine Idee wie wir unsere Leinwände hängen wollten. Nach 2 1/2 Stunden waren wir mit damit fertig. Um 3 Uhr, nachdem wir noch die Preislisten fertig und die e-mails gecheckt hatten, ging es super fertig ins Bett.

Am nächsten Tag haben wir erstmal bis 12 Uhr gepennt. Das erste mal übrigens, dass wir so lange geschlafen hatten. Was die Ausstellungseröffnung am Abend anging, hatten wir nicht wirklich mehr viel zu tun, so das wir uns mit einem "beauty" nachmittag belohnten: Cafe Latte, Veggie Burger deluxe, Fruchtsalat, Walnut-Gorgonzola-Apfel Salat, noch mehr Cafe latte, und Kuchen (so geil das amerikanische Essen hier auch ist, Kuchen kriegen die Amis einfach nicht hin, das Zeug ist Trocken wie Knäckebrot). Nach jeder Menge in der Sonne chillen, klönschnack und ein bisschen rumsketchen (auf unserer Australien-Neusseeland Tour haben wir wesentlich mehr gesketcht) hat uns dann Kemrexx so gegen Abend wieder abgeholt.

Während die anderen Künstler noch dabei waren ihre Arbeiten aufzuhängen, füllte sich die Location langsam mit den ersten Gästen. Es dauerte nicht lange und der Laden war brechend voll mit Leuten (den ganzen Abend über bestimmt 400). Jede Menge Graffiti Writer, Künstler, Fans mit Kameras bewaffnet, Game Designer, "IT" und "dot com" Leute, B-Girls, Breaker, Dj`s, Studenten, uvm. Wir traffen die LA Oldschool Legende "125", Asylum der mit Toons (Kollege aus LA, bzw Berlin) da war, Geschäftsfreunde von unserem Dosen Sponsor Molotow, so wie jede Menge coole Frauen.

Um 2 Uhr kam die Polizei und die Vernissage löste sich langsam aber sicher auf und um 4 Uhr morgens waren wir im Bett. Vielen Dank an Kemrexx, alle Helfer, die Dj`s Toph One, Bamboo, Treat u Nice, Spin, Rolo 13 sowie die Liminal Crew.

English: On Monday we went a last time to the NAC venue to say goodbye to Jason and Matthew and Cody from Redbull. Here we although met with the boys of "the topic" (http://unitedstatesofhiphop.com) for doing Interviews, and Sean Gilligan (www.seangilligan.com) the Photographer which documented the progress of our Mural. Later also Jaymeer from www.hiphopsmells.com showed up, and had some funky gifts for us.

After Richard "daddy doesn`t come home anymore" Jones and Jerry "The Joker" finished there Interviews, we all left NAC and went to the wall at Bishops, for a last photoshooting of our mural. Here we said finally goodbye to everyone (Agnes, we will come back, for sure), and made our way with Susan to the airport. We had a last veggie burrito and said finally also goodbye to Susan.

Oakland: After we landed in Oakland we were again superstoned from the flight. Kemrexx came to the airport to bring us to the warehouse gallery. Everyone seemed busy with hanging. We deposit our bags and bagpacks in Kemrexx office, and after we heated up some of the worst canfood we started thinking about a hanging concept of our canvses. After 2 1/2 Hours we were ready with hanging and at 3 o`clock, after checking e-mails, we went exhausted to bed.

On the next day (tuesday) we slept till 12 oclock (the first time since 6 weeks we slept longer then 9 oclock). Happy that we didnt had anymore work to do we went to Berkley for an relaxed Veggieburger, walnut-apple-gorgonzola salad, coffee latte, fruitsalad, even more coffee latte, and some cakes (as much as we love the american foodculture, they definatley can´t do cakes) afternoon. After lots of chilling, reflecting the last days, and a bit sketching (on our Livetravel tour thru Australia and New Zeeland we definatley sketched much more), Kemrexx came to bring us back to the gallery.

While last preparations were done by some of the other participating Artists, the venue hall started to fill in with the first visitors. Shortly everything was fully packed with people. Lots of Writers with there Books, lots super super charismatic Ladys with awesome Tattoos and piercings, B-Girls and B-Boys, game designer, art fans and many more. We ran into the LA oldschool legend "125" which came all the way up, aswell as Asylum (he particpated on the current "anti war" title mural of Artcrimes (www.graffiti.org) and Toons (he lives in Berlin, and there we met him also the last time. He currently works on the project "velocity" were he customize bikes. We met buisness partners from our Sponsor Molotow aswell as lots fresh Ladys. While DJ Toph one from SF were catering the audience with fine tunes, we signed a lot of Blackbooks.

At 2 oclock we close the Opening Show, cause the Police showed up. Thanks a lot to Kemrexx, his Team, and the Liminal Stuff for such a great evening. At 4 oclock in the morning we went stoked to bed.
